Cool Indian Beverages - Sweet Lassi

People not only feel the impact of intense heat but also suffer from dehydration. Beverages have always been a part of the Indian Cuisine. Sometimes it is hot beverage like tea and coffee and sometimes it is cool like sarbat and Lassi.
One of the extremely popular India Recipes , Sweet Lassi owes its origin to Punjab where it is an everyday recipe for the people. However, the recipe is gradually making its headway in all parts of the country basically owing to its cooling effects in the hot climate. People around the country have started using it with variations to their liking.
Sweet Lassi can be used as appetizer before taking Indian Food. Mango Lassi which is the best cooler on a hot day is prepared with –
1. Thee glasses of yogurt, 1 glass of crushed rice and 1 glass of mango pieces or pulp,
2. Sugar to taste,
3. One teas spoon silvered almonds and a dollop of thick cream for each glass.
Put the yogurt, mango, ice and sugar in a blender or mixer and blend or mix till smooth and then pour out in glasses. You can a dollop of cream and add some dry fruits to enhance the taste.
Lassi without sweet is also a prominent component of the South Indian Recipes.
