Bought The Used Poweredge Servers At The Auction
Computers December 31st, 2009I went to an auction last month with my dad because he did not want to go alone in case he bought any big items that he needed to lift into his car. I never expected to buy anything since it was an estate sale and usually there are just antiques and junk at those. I got the program for the day as soon as we got there and started to look it over while my dad went and signed up for a bid number.
I got to the fourth page of the schedule and stopped reading; there were a lot of used servers that they were going to be auctioning off. The majority of the people that were at this auction were quite old and I knew that they would not want anything to do with the used poweredge servers that were being sold today.
I called up my business partner and told him to bring me over a blank check to use when I won the used servers. He got very excited about the lot and told me that he would be there within a few hours, since the lot was not scheduled to go before noon.
When the used servers lot came up, the auctioneer started the bidding at one thousand dollars and I raised my number. Only four other people tried to bid against me and I got all twenty of the used poweredge servers for less than three thousand dollars and I knew that after refurbishing them, I would make about ten times that amount on them.
