Fighting for the Family Company
Legal Services June 17th, 2010When I graduated from my Marketing this year, I did not find it hard to look for jobs because my family has long been into our long running Bread Store. Stated by my grandma years ago, this was handed over to her three children, one of them is my mom who is in charge of the administration. Unfortunately, as years go by, the family drifted apart because of self-interest. My uncle, the eldest of the three, wanted to take over the company. My mom would not relent because he had not been giving too much to it since he was too much busy with his other company. She says it is too selfish of him to own the whole business since it was just handed over to us by our grandma. With no one to mediate, my mom consulted a lawyer in Greenville NC and seeks their advice on what to do with this matter.
The business litigation Greenville based law firm was eager to provide us with all the assistance we needed. When we came to the hearing, they have giving such in depth reasons why the company should not be given to my uncle. Although I have not harbored any anger against him, my interest is the best for this company. We as a family should be working hand in hand to make it successful and to make grandma’s legacy a wonderful remembrance not something we should be disappointed for.
